SWA | SouthWest Airlines Review [May 2022]

SouthWest Airlines (SWA) is my favorite airline whenever I am traveling domestic in the US.

It offers some free facilities for which you would have to pay in other airlines.

What is SWA?

SWA is the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) code for SouthWest Airlines, popularly called as SouthWest.

SoutWest Airlines is the world's largest low cost carrier with a caveat that if offers "2 luggage free" like a non low cost carrier!

It operates mainly in the US and surrounding countries.

It consists of Boeing 737, a narrow body aircraft that is suitable for domestic flights.

How to book flights with SouthWest airlines?

Southwest airline flights are available on all the major online booking platforms (except Google Flights) and it has its own website, www.southwest.com, where you can book flights.

How to get cheap Southwest flights

Southwest airline is already a cheap air carrier but you can get more discounts on top of it by using following hacks:

Just check the southwest low fare calendar and you will find the first 9 days to be the cheapest!! Go for it.

#2. Southwest sales

Its not official but Southwest drops its airfare on Tuesday to Thursday and you may get one way ticket in $39 on some routes!!

You can use these credit/travel funds to book another flight with them.

You can cancel your tickets even 10 minutes before the departure of the flight!

In case the flight is canceled by the operator itself, you will automatically get travel credit to your account.

Pets are allowed in Southwest domestic flights only. You need to make reservations for pets and pay for them prior to proceeding through security.

Southwest airlines baggage policy is the best among all the airlines in the US.

Even SWA is considered as a budget airline, it allows 2 check-in bags, free of cost!

Conclusion:

My experience with SouthWest Airelines (SWA) has been exceptional.

Infact, once when I was moving out from one city, I specifically booked SouthWest flight as it helped me carry all the necessary luggage that I did not transfer using packers and movers.
