Today, 25th August turned out to be a disappointing morning for those who traveled to Nandi Hills to view the sunrise.

I was among the very first to reach there and waited patiently for the gates to open.

The authorities came back and said there is a landslide due to which access to the hilltop has been obstructed.

Upon enquiring how much time it will take, I was informed it will take 2-3 months to bring it back for tourists.

This is not the official version, but for any Nandi Hills lovers, avoid the Nandi Hills plan as it will be closed for some time now.

Landslide in Nandi Hills

It rained heavily on 23-24th August. Also, there were heavy rains on the 25th morning.

A landslide was reported by the authorities on the morning of 25th around 6am.

Seems a landslide happened at night that blocked the path to the hilltop.

Where is Nandi Hills?

Nandi Hills is a tourist spot around 2hrs drive from Banglore, Karnatka.

It is famous for its sunrise and sunset views.

How much time it will take to clear the Nandi Hilltop route?

Authorities will be accessing the damage and there will be an official announcement, meanwhile, the first-hand information I got from the person available today is it may take 3-4 months before tourists can visit again.
