Nandi Hills in Bangalore, Karnataka was closed for a long time starting August 25, 2021, due to a landslide that cut off the access to the hilltop.

Reason for delay in opening Nandi Hills

Bangalore Mirror reported at the start of November that Nandi Hills is planned to be re-opened on 15th November but due to heavy rains in Tamilnadu, the supply of raw materials got impacted hence causing a delay.

I was among the very first to reach there and waited patiently for the gates to open.

The authorities came back and said there is a landslide due to which access to the hilltop has been obstructed.

Upon enquiring how much time it will take, I was informed it will take 2-3 months to bring it back for tourists.

So this popular weekend spot may still be inaccessible on Saturday and Sunday unless you have pre-booked your stay on hills for same.
